Redistilled essential oil is considered twice as pure as essential oil as the redistilling process removes impurities left from the initial distillation process. The properties of Cornmint essential oil are used therapeutically in many of the same ways as Peppermint essential oil.

Common Uses: The bruised leaves are applied to the forehead to relieve nervous headache. In the east it is used to treat rheumatic pain, neuralgia, toothache, laryngitis, indigestion, colds and bronchitis. In Chinese medicine, it is also employed for relieving earache, treating tumors and some skin conditions.
Color: Colorless to pale yellow liquid
Strength of Aroma: Strong
Blends well with: Basil, Benzoin, Black Pepper, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Grapefruit, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Naiouli, Pine, and Rosemary
Aromatic Scent: A sharp, penetrating mint scent based on its high menthol content. The sweetness of the vapor makes it easy to see why it is such a common flavoring and scenting agent.
History: In the East, cornmint is used like peppermint.
Cautions: Avoid contact with eyes, skin irritant, avoid with infants as could cause spasm of glottis and with children under two as peppermint could shock their system with cold.
