Liquid Crystal Concentrate

One Concentrate, Many Uses

The Liquid Crystal System provides a simple way of producing a variety of Personal Care Cleansing Products of consistent quality. The use of one Liquid Crystal Concentrate plus Conditioning Additive allows you to efficiently and cost effectively manufacture a range of personal care cleansing products including:

  • Shower Gels and Body Washes

  • Bubble Baths

Pearlized cleansing products can be produced by the addition of Q-Pearl, which delivers a luxurious, silky texture with depth.

Starter Formulation

WE SUGGEST ALWAYS STARTING WITH STERILIZED METAL OR GLASS BOWLS & METAL MEASURING & MIXING TOOLS, WORKING ON A COUNTER SPACE CLEANED AND WIPED WITH A LIGHT SOLUTION OF BLEACH IN WATER.

You will need a digital scale to measure your components. Choose the batch size you wish to make from the table below. Set your scale for either ounce or gram measurements. Measure your ingredients in the quantities listed in either ounces or grams.

Remember, all measurements are listed by weight, not by fluid ounces.

Ingredients:

50oz Batch 100oz Batch
Oz Grams Oz Grams
Liquid Crystal Concentrate 16 448 32 896
Fragrance or Essential Oil .23 6.5 .46 13
Distilled Water 32 896 64 1792
Preservative:  Germaben II .43 oz 12 .86 oz 24
Salt 1 28 2 56
Mix these products one at a time and stir completely after each product is added. After adding the salt, mix together for  2-3 minutes using gentle agitation with mixing spoon.

Simple Process

Simply dilute the Liquid Crystal Concentrate with water, add fragrance, color and preservative of your choice and thicken your product by adding common salt.  Liquid Crystal Concentrate is highly active as a 5:1 concentrate with typical use levels of around 20 to 30 %.  It has excellent clarity, low odor and a neutral color. Although highly active, it has a low viscosity, making it readily pour able or pump able.

  • Neutral pH

  • Manufacturing efficiencies are readily achievable with this system.

  • Product will produce copious amounts of dense, creamy lather that rinse away easily and completely

By adjusting the quantity of Liquid Crystal Concentrate and the addition of Conditioning Additive and Liquid Pearl at various percentages, several different products can be produced with different characteristics and levels of cost effectiveness

Formulation & Manufacturing Guidelines

The following formulations are suggested guidelines for production of quality cleansing products of medium cost effectiveness and should be thoroughly tested for stability and packaging compatibility.

 Standard Bubble Bath

Ingredients—Ingredients should be added in the following order:
(See chart below for specific amounts to be added)

1. Water
2. Liquid Crystal Concentrate
Mix well between additions (See manufacturing tips).

3. Preservative (See manufacturing tips).
4. Q-Pearl (As required)
5. Fragrance (As required)

Adjust pH if required (See manufacturing tips).

6. Color (As required, see manufacturing tips).
7. Salt** (As required)

** To add salt as a solution, dissolve 1 part salt to 2 parts hot water. Parts are determined by weight, (example: 1oz/28 gm salt to 2oz/56gm water. Add this mixture a little at a time to increase viscosity. Trials will be needed to establish the correct amount to add. Normal usage levels are 5-6% of the total formulation weight.

Do not add too much salt solution or the product will go cloudy!

Liquid Crystal Concentrate is not designed to be used undiluted. It should be diluted as per our guidelines; otherwise in its undiluted form it may cause skin irritation.
